Welcome!

Welcome to the online home of the Spring Valley YMCA Gators Masters Swim Team. The Spring Valley YMCA Gators (SVY) is a registered USMS team (usms.org) and member of the Delaware Valley Local Masters Swim Committee (dvmasters.org).

The team, originally formed in 2004, will be entering its eleventh season defending meet titles at local Masters events as well as our 2015 Colonies Zone Medium Team Championship Title. The team continues to grow in both size and ability and we look forward to an even better 2015-16 season. Interested in being a part of the fun?

Individual Awards

Starting with the 2009-10 season, our team has recognized six individual swimmers with awards in three different categories for exceptional performance each season. Given the size of the team, participation and caliber of swimmers on the team, these titles are hotly contested each year. Congratulations to the following swimmers!

Rookie of The Year

Awarded to the rookie with the highest point count over the season’s swim meets November through March. Points are determined for the finish within the swimmers own age/gender class.

Best Combined Performance

Awarded to the swimmer with the fastest combined times benchmarked against the swimmers age/gender USMS National Qualifying Times for designated events. Over the years, combinations such as swimmers choice of combined events including the 50 Butterfly, 50 Backstroke, 50 Breaststroke, 50 Freestyle, and the 100 Individual Medley OR the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, and the 500 Freestyle.
